When leading praise and worship know that your have a 3 part role, taking yourself to God , taking the people to God and bringing down Gods presence.so Never forget, its not about the Skill but the Spirit.
When leading praise and worship NEVER sing songs that are difficult to sing. Loud music and creative arrangements can be great, but if the music is too loud or there’s been too much arrangement that you can no longer focus on the words, the song becomes distracting. You simply can’t lead people into the presence of God if they can’t sing the songs. Therefore, the melody should be easy easy enough for everyone to participate in, not just those with an ear for music
Know your range! Never try to sing out of your range.if you want to increase your range , start with vocal exercises.
When leading praise and worship NEVER sing songs the congregation cannot connect to.
Never try to sing if you have a bad sore throat, this could lead to damage of your vocal cords.eventually you will be fine but it will take a longer time.
When leading praise and worship Never assume that the people know the words of a song, if you dont have a projector in church say the words out, and if you are doing a song in a language other than English, say what the song means so the people can flow
When practicing your vocal skills ,focus on creating a pure and clear tone first, free of airiness, rasp and other tonal changes added for stylistic purposes. If you cannot create a clear tone full of life and energy, you are not singing up to your potential.
When leading praise and worship NEVER dress in a way that would make the people focus on you instead of God.
